The base plate is birch plywood with a matching wood veneer. The metal parts are made in Germany too.

The metal parts are powder-coated and therefore very hard-wearing. To keep them that way, just keep them dry and avoid standing moisture.
The wooden parts are easy to look after too and need no special treatment – oil them lightly now and then if you want to freshen up the natural grain. For heavier marks, a light sanding followed by re-oiling is enough

The Base is available in these types of wood
Wood types
The handles of our Base are made in the Black Forest from selected woods –
beech, cherry and oak come from sustainable Black Forest forestry,
walnut from Europe.
The base plate is sturdy birch plywood (mostly from Scandinavia)
finished with a high-quality real wood veneer – for maximum stability
and a natural look.
Cherry stands out with its warm, slightly reddish tone. The fine grain looks elegant and brings a pleasant warmth to the whole piece.
Oak stands out with its bold grain and warm tone. It gives the Base a strong look full of character.
Vintage is based on oak but oiled darker, which gives it a deeper, more expressive look with a slightly rustic character.
European walnut impresses with its dark, refined tone and elegant grain. For a particularly premium look with plenty of contrast.
