The wood for our products comes from the Black Forest – whether beech, oak, alder or ash. Walnut is of European origin. All wood types are FSC-certified and therefore sustainably managed. Turning also takes place in the Black Forest, before each product receives its finishing touches in our workshop in Freiburg and is oiled with pure linseed oil. No frills, no chemicals – just honest craftsmanship.

Our products are easy to care for – and that in the truest sense of the word: they require no care at all. Their longevity does not suffer if you simply don't bother with them. They last a lifetime – and can easily be passed down.
If you still want to do something good for your product, you can simply rub it with a little oil – this will beautifully bring out the natural grain again. For heavier soiling, briefly sand lightly beforehand.
The smooth surface is easy to clean and disinfect – ideal for professional therapeutic use. If necessary, simply wipe or disinfect with a damp cloth – then let it dry briefly, and you're done.

How do the five types of wood differ?
The difference is not in function or hardness – all five wood types are equally durable and feel equally effective when rolling. The difference is a matter of personal preference in four areas:
Feel & Warmth
Alder feels particularly warm and soft in the hands – almost velvety. By comparison, beech, ash, oak, and walnut feel somewhat smoother and cooler, which many find particularly pleasant.
Weight
Alder is the lightest of the five hardwoods. The other four – beech, ash, oak, and walnut – are close in weight.
Scent
Each wood type has its own natural scent. Since all our products are treated with linseed oil, this warm, nutty linseed oil scent always accompanies the first use – a lovely sign of natural processing.
Appearance & Grain
Beech is generally very uniform and homogeneous in appearance – simple and classic. Alder, ash, oak, and walnut, on the other hand, can have beautiful, individual grains: each piece is unique. Walnut impresses with deep, dark tones, while oak and ash feature striking structures. This is purely a matter of taste.
Durability
In terms of durability, all five wood types make no compromises – they are built to last forever.
Isn't the wood much too hard?
Yes, wood doesn't give way – that's true. But hard foam fascia rollers from other manufacturers ultimately hardly do either. The decisive difference: With these products, you don't lie on them with your entire body weight, but rather dose the pressure yourself. This way you have full control – and that's precisely what makes it pleasant and effective.
Can I also use the mini roller for my feet?
Yes – even particularly well. By slightly tilting your foot, you can reach different structures of the sole of your foot and effectively release adhesions.
How often and for how long should I roll?
The beauty of the rollholz: It adapts to your daily life – you don't have to follow a strict program. As a guideline:
You can stretch daily; 5–10 minutes are completely sufficient.
We recommend rolling out – i.e., the classic back-and-forth rolling over a muscle group – about twice a week with around 3 exercises each time.
You perform melting – deliberately staying on one point until the tension subsides – as needed, e.g., if you notice a particularly tense spot. This takes about 1.5 to 4 minutes per spot.
All techniques, exercises, and what you should pay attention to are, by the way, explained in detail in the free e-book you receive after purchase.
What's included in the e-book and when will I receive it?
The e-book was developed in collaboration with sports scientists and therapists and guides you step-by-step through your fascia training. It contains everything you need: from the basics (what are fascia anyway?) to the two techniques of rolling out and melting, and an extensive collection of exercises with photos and precise instructions for almost every muscle group – for all rollholz products. There's also a section on contraindications, i.e., when you should take a break or consult a doctor.
You will receive it automatically – just check the very bottom of your order confirmation email after purchase.
