Original from MAKARLU, designed in Australia
The domes and the mat in the timber base are made of high-quality thermoplastic elastomer (TPE): soft on the skin, latex-free and free of PFAS. Strong neodymium magnets (type N48) are built into the domes: 4 in the large, 3 in the medium and 2 in the small dome.
The timber bases are made of real timber from sustainable sources – either light European ash or warm teak. They are protected with hardwax oil.
MAKARLU Lotus was designed by MAKARLU in Brisbane, Australia. The domes are made on the Gold Coast in Queensland.
- Large “blossom” dome: Ø 12 cm (2 pieces)
- Medium “seed pod” dome: Ø 9 cm (2 pieces)
- Small “seed” dome: Ø 6 cm (2 pieces)
- Timber base: Ø 14 cm (2 pieces)
- Weight: approx. 1.4 kg per pair
- Dome colour: Midnight Black
Domes and mat (TPE): wipe with a soft, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth or brush, lightly dampened with fresh water if needed. You can also rinse the domes (not the timber bases) under running water and let them dry thoroughly. For a more thorough clean, for example when several people use the Lotus, a little isopropyl alcohol on a soft cloth is suitable.
Timber base: rub or polish dry with a soft cloth. No isopropyl alcohol on the timber, as it can affect the hardwax oil finish. Do not use the timber base on hard floors or concrete; use it on a soft surface such as a mat, rug or towel so that it does not get scratched.
Do not use soaps, hand sanitisers or other cleaning products, and protect from extreme heat and prolonged direct sunlight.

MAKARLU Lotus
Inspired by nature. Designed for movement.
The domes and timber bases of the Lotus are modelled on the lotus flower and its seed pod. Together they become a whole workshop of exercise and massage aids for the entire body.
The studded structures give muscles, skin and fascia targeted, pleasant pressure. And because the domes nest inside each other, you decide how firm it feels: add or remove the inner domes – depending on the body area and how it feels.
One pair, six domes
Three sizes. Countless exercises.
Every pair contains two complete sets of domes – plus the two timber bases.

Blossom · Ø 12 cm
The large dome with the pointed petals. It delivers broad pressure for large muscle groups such as glutes, thighs or chest.

Seed pod · Ø 9 cm
The medium dome with the dimples. The versatile size in between – as a pressure point or as a support in the studio, for example in a side lunge.

Seed · Ø 6 cm
The small, smooth dome for pinpoint pressure, for example on the feet or the side of the back.

One dome. Many exercises.

Built-in magnets
Not just for the floor
The magnets in the domes make the Lotus a helper for hard-to-reach spots on the back, neck, shoulders or hips. The domes can be used upright and hands-free – which makes self-massage and gentle mobilisation of stiff joints much easier.
Ideal for attaching to MAKARLU Pebble or Wall or to any suitable metal surface, such as a fridge, filing cabinet or metal pole.
Important: keep away from pacemakers, implants, bank cards and electronics – more under “Safety & manufacturer”.
Pilates & studio
At home in the studio, too
Whether reformer, Wunda Chair or mat: Lotus brings instability, foot activation and pressure points to Pilates training.

Two types of timber
Ash or teak?
A pure matter of taste: some prefer lighter timber, others darker. The domes are identical in both versions.

European ash
Light, lively, with expressive grain. Ash looks friendly and calm and suits any room.

Teak
Warm, dark and in contrast to the black domes. Teak brings depth and a refined character to the picture.

Questions about the product
How do the nesting domes work?
How do the nesting domes work?
The three domes – large, medium and small – fit inside each other. You can use them individually, nested, or on the timber base. By adding or removing the inner domes you change the firmness and adapt the Lotus to the body area and how it feels.
What are the magnets for?
What are the magnets for?
Several strong neodymium magnets are built into the domes. This lets the domes cling to metal surfaces, such as a steel door, a filing cabinet or a metal pole. So you can use them upright and hands-free – handy for the back, neck, shoulders and hips.
Are the magnets dangerous?
Are the magnets dangerous?

Also keep away from defibrillators, insulin pumps and other implants, and do not bring the domes close to bank cards, data carriers or sensitive electronics. Do not continue to use damaged domes. You will find all the information under “Safety & manufacturer” in the product description.
What is the difference between ash and teak?
